Join us at Centrally Rooted for a 6-week session for the adult that has always wanted to learn to play ukulele. This class offers beginning instruction on playing the uke, with an emphasis on chord playing and accompaniment styles for singing songs.

Dan Caraway is a musician and teacher living in Dubuque Iowa. He began playing guitar at 9 and started studying classical guitar in college. He subsequently studied with several of the region’s best classical guitarists and began teaching professionally in 1993 offering private and class instruction at Grinnell College, Cornell College, Iowa City Guitar Foundation, Dubuque Guitar School, as well as various after-school programs.

He has performed here and abroad with various classical, folk and popular groups on guitar,  7-String guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin and voice. He has several recording credits on 7-String and classical guitars.

    Tuesdays April 4, 11, 18, 25 and May 2, 9 6:30-7:30 Join us at Centrally Rooted for a 6-week session for the adult that has always wanted to learn to play guitar. You will learn many foundational tools to set you up to be able to play around a campfire this summer – and you can do it while enjoying a beverage. Must be 21 & over. BYO beer or wine (no liquor) & BYO guitar (or communicate in advance if you need help finding or borrowing one). No prior experience required.
