Service Description

Registration Opens: April 15, 2024 Registration Closes: May 15, 2024 Sessions: June 6, 13, 20, 27 | 9am-11am This expressive art program will work with children ages 8-12 to help them discover self and their connection to others. This will be fostered through a 4 week program with sessions once a week for 2 hours, totaling 4, 2 hour sessions over the course of a month. Over the course of these sessions, students will be immersed in a variety of art media, including, collage, abstract painting, drawing, and sculpture building. Goals 1. Allow learners to make independent choices in their projects. 2. Introduce students to expressive art as a tool for self-discovery and self-expression 3. Explore emotions through abstract art 4. Foster empathy and understanding of others 5. Explore the concept of working together and building a community 6. Teach the importance of self-expression, confidence in yourself, and community 7. Students will leave with a deeper understanding/new discoveries of themself, better communication skills, and stronger art techniques
